Dr. Carroll's coaching guide

Step-by-step instructions for the day-and-night routine, written by the doctor who designed the system, so you know exactly what to do from day one.

No drugs, no clinic

Drug-free and non-surgical. Done at home, in about five minutes a day, on your own schedule.

The method

Two devices.
One simple routine.

Relieve the joint at night, rebuild the deep muscles by day. The daytime exercise and the nighttime support sleeve work together to help break the shoulder-pain cycle in about five minutes a day.

The daytime weighted-pendulum exercise being used at home
By Day
Weighted pendulum

A 5-minute routine that targets the smaller muscles of the shoulder to improve strength and mobility.

The nighttime support sleeve worn while resting
By Night
Support sleeve

Keeps the shoulder in a position of rest as you sleep, so you stop re-aggravating it overnight.

1

Decompress

The daytime pendulum gently opens the joint and takes pressure off the rotator cuff.

2

Support

The nighttime sleeve keeps your shoulder aligned so it can rest and recover.

3

Rebuild

Progressive coaching strengthens the deep muscles, so pain has less reason to return.

Meet the inventor

Invented by a doctor who
treated his own shoulder pain

Dr. Carroll is a family physician who sees a lot of shoulder pain, and a decade ago he lived through it himself. Hear why he built the Shoulder Reliever.

After plenty of trial and error he built the original device, then refined it into the Shoulder Reliever. The idea is simple: relieve the joint at night, and rebuild the deep muscles by day. No drugs, no operating room.

Questions

Answers from
Dr. Carroll

Straight answers about how the night-and-day system works, and who it tends to help most.

5 min
a day is all the routine takes, on your own schedule at home.
What comes in the kit?+
The daytime weighted pendulum with four progressive balls, the nighttime support sleeve, a hard-shell carry case, and Dr. Carroll's coaching guide that walks you through the day-and-night routine.
Will it help if I do not use the nighttime sleeve?+
If you simply can't sleep with it, stick to the daytime exercises. Many people report progress using the daytime routine alone. We suggest using both for the most benefit, and even an hour a night to start is fine. Work up from there, and internal data shows people reported improvement with as little as four hours per night.
Why does it tend to help so much with nighttime pain?+
When you lie down you lose the gravity that normally keeps the spaces of the shoulder open. The nighttime sleeve helps keep those spaces open for blood flow and rest, while the daytime exercise strengthens the deep muscles that contributed to the problem in the first place.
Can it help shoulder impingement or a bone spur?+
It can help. Easing the impingement at night helps interrupt the injury cycle, and the daytime exercises strengthen the rotator cuff and draw the shoulder down, which frees up room under the bone spur.
I have a rotator-cuff tear and want to avoid surgery. Is that possible?+
Not every tear needs the knife, particularly long-standing pain.
Can I keep lifting weights while I use it?+
We recommend a 10-day break from upper body workouts while you start our system. This gives the small muscles of the shoulder a little head start to rebalance the joints.
Which side do I sleep on, and can I treat both shoulders?+
You can sleep any way except on the shoulder wearing the sleeve. Treat one side at a time at night and alternate, but use the daytime exercise on both shoulders.
